Duckworth Discusses Water Infrastructure with Chicagoland Mayors

[DES PLAINES, IL] – U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) today met with members and leadership of the Illinois Metropolitan Mayors Caucus to discuss current issues and challenges facing their local municipalities as well as ongoing projects in the region to replace lead service lines. Photos of the meeting can be found on Senator Duckworth’s website.

“As we work to rid our state and nation of dangerous lead service lines, it’s essential to hear how these projects are directly impacting the communities they’re happening in,” Duckworth said. “I’m glad I was able to connect with so many Chicagoland mayors on this initiative today, and I’ll keep working hard to make sure they have the assistance they need and deserve.”

Duckworth met with several local mayors, including Geneva Mayor Kevin Burns, Cary Mayor Mark Kownick, Northlake Mayor Jeff Sherwin, Romeoville Mayor John Noak, Hazel Crest Mayor Vernard Alsberry, Jr. and Des Plaines Mayor Andrew Goczkowski.
