$696,000 Duckworth-secured federal funding for Rush University Medical Center

Senator Duckworth secured $696,000 for the Rush Education and Career Hub for Information Technology (REACH for IT) program, which aims provide reliable, effective, systemic interventions that change the odds for children and young adults on Chicago's West Side while developing a more inclusive economy. REACH for IT aims to provide high-quality STEM programming to approximately 800 primarily Black and Latinx students. REACH for IT's goals include sparking interest in IT careers, boosting high school graduation rates, increasing college enrollment and improving readiness for the workforce by providing opportunities for young people of color.
