Duckworth on Senate Republicans’ Budget Resolution That Would Enrich Billionaires at the Expense of Middle-Class Families
[WASHINGTON, D.C.] – Today, U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) issued the following statement regarding the Republicans’ budget resolution that would hurt middle-class Americans in order to fund tax breaks for billionaires:
“By moving this budget resolution forward, Republicans are putting their full stamp of approval on Donald Trump’s plan to reach even further into the pockets of middle-class families to give even larger tax cuts to his billionaire buddies,” said Duckworth. “Every Republican that votes for this budget will put themselves on the record supporting Trump’s tariffs and trade wars that are skyrocketing everyday costs and tanking Americans’ retirement plans, his firing thousands upon thousands of Veterans, his slashing Medicaid and Medicare, his attacks on Social Security and so much more. This Republican budget is a complete betrayal of the American people, and I’m going to keep doing everything in my power to push back against this disastrous agenda.”
